I believe that there is a growing interest in genuine, labored-over products with provenance. Handbags play a very important role in our daily lives. Be they clutches, hand-held, cross the body, over the shoulder, large shoppers or totes, bags of all shapes and sizes add chic to our attire, and they update our look. I am very partial to accessories, particularly bags, but of late I have struggled with the styles marketed by the power houses in fashion. Some of them are too fussy, with lots of hardware and just too much bling! For all their flamboyance and expense, they tend to date quickly, unlike a classic piece with a contemporary look; a case in point, bags by Chanel are timeless, as are the bags by the iconic Hermes. Think about the many years the Hermes Kelly bag has graced the lives of elegant women!

The bags we show were handpicked by me and our fashion consultant in Milan, who like Phoebe Philo of Celine, believes in the products themselves being the star, and not the lifestyle, nor the celebrity who lends her name to the product. Indeed, our bags lack the signature of Chanel, Hermes, and Prada, but what they lack in signature, something I deem an asset, they make up for in top design, quality, and not to mention, accessibly priced, and utterly engaging. Most of all, they are lasting, beautiful objects! Are they worth the investment? Indeed they are...so given that camel is the color this season, twin a camel-colored Gattinoni "secchiello" with your camel coat, or camel cape, or be different and playful and match a uniquely designed Divo Diva shopper, a truly proper bag, big enough to store stuff in and easy to open, with almost anything.
