“With a little luck we can help it out”, sang Paul McCartney, and so it is that on the occasion of an important meeting, a sports tournament, a trip, we decide to seek a little help from “lady luck”. How? By turning to our good luck charm, an object upon which we have bestowed supernatural powers that may lead us to victory.
Lucky charms do exist. Surprisingly, scientists nod to their existence too, but not necessarily to their enchanted status. Scientific research also concludes that the secret to their success is belief.
That’s it! When we are convinced luck is on our side, when we feel its goodness, and sense its protection our attitude shifts, anxiety dissolves, self-esteem blooms and grows.
We wear a pendant, a bracelet, a ring. Sometimes they are gifts of love, or perhaps they are a purchase… made with love. Have you ever been captivated by a jewel, perhaps one that costs little, and yet is “gifted” with a beauty that is absolutely magnetic, almost mesmerising?
We can answer yes. In our search for jewellery, handmade in Italy, we have been literally “kidnapped” by certain pieces that evoked life’s magic spells. In an instant being transported to another space in time, beyond the moment to a realm of harmony and fantasy. Some are inspired by faraway cultures, others by Mother Nature, amulet jewels that stand alone with their own identity, living their own lives.
The heart or “Cuore”, pendants “Tris” and “Onda”, the ring Coppetta enamelled in a double coating of nail polish red. They are contemporary interpretations of symbols that capture energy, like the vitality of waves in “Onda.” The three points of “Tris” fix on the number three, a numeral that holds the power of positivity. The heart, an intelligent organ always speaks to love, while red often associated with affairs of the heart is also a symbol of prosperity, luck, and happiness. Designed by Milan-based artist Lucilla Giovanninetti for T I C Private Label, and moulded using the very old “cera persa” technique they carry in their form all the preciousness of Made in Italy.
Likewise, the “porta fortuna” by Ornella Bijoux: The Serpent – a par excellence symbol of rebirth, transformation and well-being. Or the wee bracelets in Liberty style that hold the symbol of the “wheel of life” in each of the four seasons. They too modelled in bronze and made from proprietary original moulds by Ornella – storied artisans of Milan.
Now it is up to you to make these objects a longtime friend, an inseparable companion along the path of life. In their being they hold the magic of all the love with which they were created. So, whether you believe or not, the real good luck charm really is LOVE.

…e alla fine, il vero portafortuna è l’amore… e voi ci credete?

Come? ricorrendo al nostro portafortuna… un oggetto al quale conferiamo quei poteri soprannaturali che ci porteranno alla vittoria.
I porta fortuna esistono e con grande sorpresa se ne stanno convincendo anche gli scienziati anche se non per gli effetti magici che attribuiamo loro. Questo perché molte ricerche scientifiche sono giunte alla stessa conclusione: il segreto perché funzionino è…crederci!
È proprio così. Quando ci convinciamo di avere la buona sorte dalla nostra, si innesca un atteggiamento positivo che annulla l’ansia e…fa crescere la nostra autostima.
Indossiamo un ciondolo, un bracciale, o un anello. A volte sono un dono fatto con amore o un acquisto fatto…con amore. Vi sarà capitato di essere catturati da un gioiello, non necessariamente di grande valore economico, ma dotato di una bellezza quasi magnetica?
A noi sì. Nella nostra ricerca di monili handmade in Italy siamo state letteralmente rapite da alcuni pezzi che evocano l’incantesimo della vita e in un istante ti portano in altre atmosfere. Taluni ispirati a culture lontane altri alla natura, i gioielli amuleti sembrano vivere di una vita propria. Il cuore, i ciondoli tris e onda, l’anello in doppio smalto rosso. Sono interpretazioni contemporanee di simboli come l’energia dell’onda, le tre “punte” di tris, numero tre è uno carico di positività. Il cuore, un organo intelligente e “aperto” all’amore, e il rosso, un colore sinonimo con prosperità, buona fortuna e felicità.
