It’s that time of year again when a sudden nip in the air and the more muted light signals change. Autumn is almost here! We are taken out of our pleasant summer complacency and jettisoned into Bob Dylan’s “times are a changin’” mode.
T’is a season that some look forward to for a plethora of reasons while others lament its arrival. Cristina falls in the former category. Who can blame her? The heat index in Milan in the height of summer is unbearable! Myriam tends to drag her feet a bit resisting the inevitable, although she is coming round to Cristina’s point of view.
Do you suffer from autumn blues? Or are you blissfully awaiting all that is autumnal…late sunrises, early sunsets, crispiness, crunchy walks in the park?
There is an aspect of autumn that perhaps deserves a wee mention. When autumn nips at our heels, what do we do? We tend to slow down a bit, we follow Mother Nature’s lead. We may even ponder more – contemplate, meditate, look inward – as we think about the months ahead with a sense of quietness, a peaceful interlude.
“Sugar and spice and all things nice” may not be our thing, however, autumn’s preciousness is there to embrace. The astounding colours of the deciduous forests, gold, rust, orange, and that indescribable blazing red. The old tradition of roasting chestnuts by the fire and sitting by the fireplace (if you are lucky enough to have one) listening to the crackle and pop of wood as it warms the cockles of your heart.
Our style changes too! Indeed, we seek refuge in our self-styled layered cocoons. So many creatures great and small do it, and it seems we do too. It’s an image that evokes safety, warmth, and coziness. Now let’s pause a moment, breathe into this idea, as soon we shall reveal our new collection for autumn.
To tell you the truth, curating the collection was a time-consuming, laborious task. Just imagine accessing and collaborating with our artisans and their companies with the additional Delta variant health and safety measures in place during the Italian summer. Notwithstanding, our enthusiasm and excitement never once abated.
The result is stunning cashmere in strong, warm, and uplifting colours with a “very Italian” surprise that shall make you smile. Bags in the softest nappa leather that collectively define unmistakable Italian design, precious “bijoux” jewellery vintage and Liberty made by hand, stoles in hand painted silk with an underlay in gauze cashmere, and much, much more.
So back to the question: Are you an autumn fan, or are you, “oh gosh its autumn, woe is me?” An attitude shift may be in order as this season, like the other three, offers something unique to it and truly special. Let’s stay open to the process, to the positivity of endless possibility, and be grateful for the opportunity to write more chapters in the book on life.

Autunno: gioia o malinconia?
Eccoci di nuovo in quel periodo dell’anno in cui un improvviso soffio d’aria più fresca e la luce più tenue annunciano l’arrivo dell’autunno. C’è chi si sente strappato al confort estivo e vive il momento in modalità “Times are changing” di Bob Dylan, altri invece accolgono la nuova stagione in un mood vivaldiano…allegro e adagio allegro.
Cristina, indubbiamente rientra nella seconda categoria…come darle torto, il caldo a Milano può essere insopportabile. Io punto un po’ i piedi, vorrei che l’estate non finisse mai … Ma non appena il ritmo della Natura si fa più lento, mi accorgo che infondo l’autunno è una stagione meravigliosa e tremendamente romantica. Da vivere in armonia con la natura.
La calma avvolgente che dà spazio alla riflessione ci induce a guardarci dentro…per poi far emergere calde emozioni (o sensazioni). Quante belle cose ritroviamo nella nuova stagione…una serata davanti al camino (per chi ce l’ha) ascoltando lo scoppiettio della legna, e le tradizionali caldarroste !!! Le passeggiate nel parco, tra il crepitio delle foglie secche e una tavolozza di colori sorprendenti.. l’oro, ruggine, arancione e quell’indescrivibile rosso fuoco che contrastano con il marrone della terra.
Anche il nostro stile cambia. Ci copriamo, quasi cercando rifugio in quelli che amiamo definire “i nostri bozzoli” …così caldi, così rassicuranti, ma pur sempre con il desiderio di rinnovarci, lasciandoci guidare da quelle calde sensazioni…
E rimanendo su questo tema, ben presto vi sveleremo le nostre nuove proposte per l’autunno. A dirvi la verità è stato un lavoro molto impegnativo (immaginate solo le misure di sicurezza per accedere alle aziende…) ma altrettanto entusiasmante. I cashmere in tinte calde ma anche allegre, con una sorpresa che vi farà sorridere “tutta italiana”, le borse in morbida nappa dal design inconfondibile, le stole in seta dipinte a mano e doppiate in garza di cashmere, i preziosi bijoux vintage lavorati a mano…e molto altro.
Ma tornando a sei un fan dell’autunno oppure <> siete pronti ad accogliere il nuovo equinozio? Come dicono i nostri amici anglosassoni…stay open to the process …rimaniamo aperti al cambiamento perché come le altre stagioni, anche l’autunno ci offre qualcosa di unico e veramente speciale, un’opportunità per scrivere nuove pagine entusiasmanti della nostra vita.
