Old-style glamour is never far from Maria Vittoria Albani’s mindset when she thinks about adornment; and this unique and sensuous bauble that we named “Alpine Star” is just one of many creations in her astounding hub.
Her workshop in the historic centre of Milan is a narrative of beauty, a wondrous place filled to the brim with works of art spanning decades. Drawer upon drawer, one gasp after another, Cristina and I seem to fall under the spell of the bounty of her vision, and immense creativity; but it was the Alpine Star proudly exhibiting the hallmarks of Maria Vittoria’s touch that struck a very loud chord.
Not bold, flashy or outsized this unashamedly elegant “Alpine Star” handmade in Milan transforms any ensemble be it day or night, formal or casual chic. Believe us when we say you will not be disappointed!
About the Designer
In the heart of Milan there is a historical workshop. Founded in 1944, this small nook houses our own Maria Vittoria Albani; an eclectic designer of splendidly unusual costume jewellery.
Petite, elegant, and immensely talented, Maria makes art that speaks to natural beauty and is expressed through impeccable craftsmanship. Each piece is made by the nimble hands of artisans.
Maria’s career spans decades, and in recognition of her contribution to this art form Swarovski commissioned her pieces to be showcased in the crystal maker’s touring exhibition of “Teatro alla Scala”. Maria’s pieces also appeared in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
