Maria Vittoria Albani started working in her mother’s “bottega” as a youth. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and her insatiable penchant for learning a delight; two attributes that have carried her for decades.
A costume jeweller whose only reason for being is to bring beauty into the world, she makes wearable art that conveys a style that seems to transcend age and culture. Endowed with such a mighty and rare gift it comes as no surprise that Maria’s trove casts a spell on all those who are fortunate enough to touch, feel or see her pieces.
Indeed, Maria Vittoria Albani is as gracious as her handmade butterfly and pearl-motif ring; one that elevates the mood, turning a frown into a smile and making the choice to wear it a very personal expression. And, isn’t this the purpose of adornment?
About the Designer
In the heart of Milan there is a historical workshop. Founded in 1944, this small nook houses our own Maria Vittoria Albani; an eclectic designer of splendidly unusual costume jewellery.
Petite, elegant, and immensely talented, Maria makes art that speaks to natural beauty and is expressed through impeccable craftsmanship. Each piece is made by the nimble hands of artisans.
Maria’s career spans decades, and in recognition of her contribution to this art form Swarovski commissioned her pieces to be showcased in the crystal maker’s touring exhibition of “Teatro alla Scala”. Maria’s pieces also appeared in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
