“Eyes like flowers that float in my dreams”, shares Claudia Franco is the essence of the work in pongé silk that she calls “Fiori tra le Pennellate.”
A surreal theme informed by her mind’s eye the artist anchors the canvas in gold; the colour of the sun associated with abundance, prosperity and well-being.
With ensuing brush strokes the canvas changes, taking on many new shades giving the floral shapes their own space in the dreamy narrative.
This gorgeous scarf hand painted in Milan takes up to four weeks for delivery.

An advocate of the artisan’s way of making by hand, Milan-based Claudia Franco is a shining young star. Not swayed by fame or material trappings she dedicates her time to perfecting this art form using the language of beauty to lift hearts and minds.
She works primarily with pongé silk; the finest of weaves to mastermind exquisite scarves bathed in personal stories, of life and love giving them a voice by way of hues brimming with the essence of her soul. Not unlike Picasso who used colour to convey his ups and downs, his triumphs and losses, so too Claudia.
In “Fiori tra le Pennellate”, literally “flowers in between brush strokes”, the artist taps her trance state and shines a light onto a nurturing dream displaying it in splendid hues and shapes.
Whether it is draped, wrapped or casually slung over the shoulder Claudia’s surreal scarf is a showstopper!
About the Designer
Since her early years in Lecce and Turin Italy, Claudia Franco has been enthralled by the touch and feel of textiles, seduced by their colour and inspired by their natural beauty. Mastering the traditional techniques including Shibari, fine-tuning the old method of fixing steam by angling pots, Claudia added her elegant touch of her paint brushes on pure silk.
“One does not work on silk, one works with silk,” says Claudia. “Silk is a living thing; it guides you and your hands, and together in spiritual union, thousands of colour shades emerge.”
A relationship so heartfelt, respectful and intense cannot help but create wraps, scarves, foulards, and tunics that enchant everyone from discerning clients to overly demanding art gallerists.
In her workshop in Milano, where she has resided for many years, Claudia Franco now creates an exclusive line for The Italian Collection (TIC).
