“An Ode to Turin”, this work in delicate pongé silk by Claudia Franco is a celebration of Italy’s first capital.
A splendid city of piazzas dotting her geometric urban plan, Claudia goes for warm hues to bring her vision to the fore. Colours like a soothing shade of grey with a hint of blue evoke Turin’s hazy sky that shrouds the King's former home in an aristocratic sense of elegance.
In all, “Pennellate Grigie” is a delightful play on the grid that in its colourful demeanour conveys the artist’s longing for a city where she began to dabble in silk painting.
This hand painted scarf takes up to four week for delivery.

Claudia Franco who loves to work with her hands is especially excited when she is about to narrate a new story in silk. Her preferred medium, Claudia shares that she becomes one with a fibre that has tactile qualities like no other.
In pausing simply to grasp the beauty of this special relationship we soon understand that it is at the heart of each canvas she paints. Hardly surprising, then, that when brushes, rollers, and other tools of the trade touch the silk a masterpiece emerges, as it does in “Pennellate Grigie”.
An exquisite blend of harmonious bold and sturdy brushstrokes, a keen eye, and an innate understanding of the power of colour, it soothes the mind and the heart.
Draped or wrapped Claudia’s “Ode to Turin” in flowing silk is a showstopper, and an accessory that you will cherish forever and a day!
About the Designer
Since her early years in Lecce and Turin Italy, Claudia Franco has been enthralled by the touch and feel of textiles, seduced by their colour and inspired by their natural beauty. Mastering the traditional techniques including Shibari, fine-tuning the old method of fixing steam by angling pots, Claudia added her elegant touch of her paint brushes on pure silk.
“One does not work on silk, one works with silk,” says Claudia. “Silk is a living thing; it guides you and your hands, and together in spiritual union, thousands of colour shades emerge.”
A relationship so heartfelt, respectful and intense cannot help but create wraps, scarves, foulards, and tunics that enchant everyone from discerning clients to overly demanding art gallerists.
In her workshop in Milano, where she has resided for many years, Claudia Franco now creates an exclusive line for The Italian Collection (TIC).
