an
Italian story

A native of Milan, Alfredo Fabrizio spent much of his youth by his father’s side getting lost in fine fabrics, yarn, cloth samples, and the tools used in the craft of tailoring. An environment in which he felt very much at home, Alfredo developed a deep love and passion for the art form of sculpting fabrics into fine tailored things.

Not long after graduating from his hometown School of Fashion and Textile Design, Alfredo worked for companies in the field including Alma, and Blumarine Uomo. He also ventured into the consultancy side of things. Here he built on experiences in the total looks for women developing products for brands like J C de Castelbajac Plus, Alessandro De Benedetti, VDP (Via delle Perle), Clips and Angelo Marani.

Equipped with newfound knowledge, lessons learnt and shouldered by the family’s Neapolitan DNA, Alfredo decided to venture out on his own. In 2015, SHIRTSTUDIO was born; a brand with one objective – to develop and study a wardrobe staple, the shirt – in its many variations, and endless expressive possibilities. The deep dive helped redefine an item of clothing whose role and style had changed little in decades. Characterised by rich sartorial details, the new generation shirt no longer fits into the gender box; it transforms into a unisex item for menswear and womenswear collections.

Starting with iconic black and white templates, over time the capsules developed with the seasons, forever changing, and adapting keeping up with the metropolitan globetrotter.  Today, unsurprisingly Shirtstudios by Alfredo Fabrizio is the gatekeeper to the quintessential shirt-jacket.
