The Italian Collection was Born
The Italian Collection (TIC) is a unique platform that was born out of love for the handmade. Going forth from our place in Milan we sought to find master craftspeople whose beautiful accessories rarely leave their native land.
Our hunt for unique, understated glamour bore fruit, and today the array of items that grace our website bear the human imprint of their maker. No one product is exactly alike; each one is a little different, each one with subtle nuances that make them more valuable.
There are jaunty cashmere capes, coats, and hats knitted and crocheted out of wool fiber spun on ancient looms. There is “wearable art”; silk and wool scarves in painterly, joyous prints. Irresistible, sculptural brass metal dipped in gold for the neck, cuffs for the forearms too; plus bespoke umbrellas with matching hats for those not so sunny days.
And, for lovers of leather there are bags; top-handle, shoulder, cross-shoulder, as well as, punchy pouches ideal for travelling. Gorgeous belts in naturally dyed leather and suede celebrate the romance and precision of Italian craft. All in all an e-gallery of wares that exalts beauty!
Thus, TIC’s devotion is to authenticity; to artisans who place the physical pleasure of wearing a piece of theirs and the emotion it evokes at the heart of their designs. For a man or woman who knows their style, and what is unique about it, our distinctive pieces “Made in Italy” will, no doubt, appeal.
Meet the Founding Women
At the helm of TIC are two longtime friends bound by their appreciation of beautiful things and the mission that embraces their unique project.
Cristina GhisolfiFounderBorn in the fashion capital of the world Milan, and with the exception of a short time in Paris for her studies she calls this chic place home. A lover of fine things, Cristina has worked hard to protect one of Italy's unique traditions, that of craftsmanship. And today, as co-founder of TIC she is equipped to handle her most ambitious project yet; that of conveying to the rest of the world the beauty of the handmade.
Myriam AltieriFounderBorn in Italy, but soon left her native land to live like a nomad popping up in countries as far away as Australia. Before settling down in the United States, Myriam worked in advertising and broadcasting in Sydney, London, Milan and Paris. A honing of language skills, as well as marketing communications has given her tools that lend themselves so well to the needs of TIC.
