Summertime, and the living is truly easier as we let our dreams take hold. Up here in the northern hemisphere, the month of August is the one where we grab our bathing suits, a few of our favourite accessories, bottles of suntanning lotion (without harmful chemicals naturally), and perhaps a wee suitcase to hold all our essentials for that holiday closer to home or abroad.
And off we go footloose and fancy free to the warm waters of the Mediterranean, to the more rugged beaches of Cape Cod, or perhaps somewhere more exotic like the Seychelles. On the bucket list! Or some of us may head for the cooler climes of some Alpine location…. Cristina, and Myriam? It’s the seashore for us!
Finally, we can let our hair down, literally, breathe deeply, indulge a little, no, a lot, and wile away the time. Precious time to recharge our almost depleted batteries.
Let’s succumb now to all that is summer. Spending time outdoors, eating delectable food, watching the sunrise with your caffe’, being wowed by sunsets, all the while looking the part donning your favourite shorts, t-shirts, and pretty dresses.
And on that note as we pen Cristina is recharging her batteries in her beloved Spain. On this side of the pond Myriam is planning to take a plane ride to the most southern tip of the United States, Key West where total detachment from all things serious shall be the task of each, and every day.
Soon we arrive at that part of summer when the days are still long, and hot, but fall is coming into view. TIC’s two founders shall be refreshed and eager to set the tone with the arrival online of gorgeous new accessories designed in Italy, handmade in Italy. Stay tuned! But between now and then live each day to the fullest, enjoy the here and now and don’t sweat the small stuff. See you soon!

La vita diventa veramente facile non appena lasciamo che i nostri sogni s’impossessino della realtà…In questa parte dell’emisfero, a nord non vediamo l’ora di mettere in una piccola valigia quelle poche cose indispensabili, costumi da bagno prima di tutto, qualche abito e accessorio, i solari (rigorosamente senza sostanze chimiche tanto dannose) e via che si parte per le vacanze, per mete vicine o all’estero.
Ce ne andiamo liberi e spensierati, verso le acque calde del Mediterraneo, o le coste selvagge di Cape Cod. O forse in paradisi esotici come le Seychelles (sempre nella lista dei miei desideri). Chi ama i climi freschi si dirige verso qualche località montana. Le Alpi italiane per esempio… e Cristina e Myriam? Noi optiamo per il mare come sempre!
L’estate è la stagione da vivere in piena libertà: è sciogliere i capelli al vento (Cristina no, li ha corti), indossare i nostri shorts preferiti, una t-shirt o un abitino fresco e niente trucco. Quant’è bello non dover sottostare ai diktat della vita cittadina! Ma soprattutto è vivere il più possibile all’aria aperta, respirando profondamente quell’aria carica di profumi. È estasiarsi guardando le prime luci dell’alba – sorseggiando un buon caffè – o perdersi nei tramonti infuocati. È viziarci e coccolarci un po’, no anzi, molto! Ingannando il tempo senza fare nulla. Quel Tempo prezioso per ricaricare le batterie.
Siamo ad agosto il mese che ci annuncia anche l’arrivo della prossima stagione…ma non dilunghiamoci su questo argomento… e su queste note, mentre scriviamo il nostro blog Cristina sta ricaricando le batterie nella sua tanto amata Spagna. Da questo lato dell’Oceano Myriam sta prenotando un volo per raggiungere la punta estrema degli States, Key West dove il vero distacco da tutte cose serie sarà il vero impegno di ogni giorno.
Per la fine di agosto le due fondatrici di T.I.C torneranno ai posti di comando, pronte per presentarvi la nuovissima collezione di accessori belli e ben fatti in Italia. Stay tuned! Nel frattempo, godetevi appieno le vostre giornate di vacanza vivendo “qui e ora” e, un consiglio, non prendetevela per le piccole cose. No stress, è importante.
